Modules 1–3, In Person | March 14–20, 2026
St. John’s Abbey Guesthouse | Collegeville, MN
You are invited to step into a transformative weeklong training that brings together body, mind, and spirit in one of the most beautiful and contemplative settings in Minnesota. Guided by internationally recognized teacher Marion Gilbert, this immersive program will ground you in the Somatic Enneagram Method, an embodied approach to healing, growth, and spiritual development.
Over the course of three foundational modules, you’ll be supported in recognizing and relaxing the automatic patterns that shape how you think, feel, and act. Through experiential learning, somatic exercises, and type panels, you’ll discover how to navigate life’s challenges from a place of grounded presence rather than reactivity.
This is more than a training — it’s an invitation to return home to yourself. Set in the contemplative beauty of St. John’s Abbey Guesthouse, you’ll experience a rhythm of learning, reflection, and renewal that allows space for the body to unwind, the heart to open, and the mind to rest in awareness. Whether you come as a coach, therapist, spiritual director, or committed student of the Enneagram, this program offers practical tools and lived experience for both personal and professional growth.

What You Will Experience
Module 1: Foundational Elements of Somatic Work
Ground yourself in the body and learn to cultivate the inner observer. Through guided practices and group discussion, you’ll develop the capacity to direct your attention in ways that relax your type structure and restore balance.
Module 2: The Defense System and How to Be with It
Explore how the body’s defenses arise as physical, emotional, and mental reactions. Learn to recognize and stay present with these patterns long enough for real transformation to occur—developing the somatic tools to foster self-regulation and emotional resilience.
Module 3: Differentiating Essence from Personality
Go beyond survival strategies to touch the essence of who you are. With practices designed to navigate loss, anxiety, achievement, and trauma, you’ll learn to meet life’s challenges with greater clarity, compassion, and embodied freedom.
What You Will Gain
Through this immersive journey, you’ll begin to notice subtle but profound shifts — the kind that happen when the body starts to trust that it no longer needs to brace for impact. You’ll learn to meet stress, tension, and emotional reactivity not as enemies to overcome, but as intelligent messengers guiding you back toward balance and aliveness.
As you deepen your somatic awareness, you’ll discover how to pause in the moments that once felt automatic, creating space to respond rather than react. This capacity builds resilience — not as a rigid strength, but as a flexible, embodied presence that can move with life rather than resist it.
By the end of the training, you’ll walk away with more than new concepts. You’ll carry practices that live in your body — grounded tools for emotional regulation, compassion, and clarity. You’ll gain a renewed connection to your essence, a quiet confidence that emerges when personality softens and presence takes the lead.
