Somatic Enneagram & Family Constellations Retreat

September 18–25, 2026

Sediba Retreat (Good Shepherd) Centre

Hartbeespoort, South Africa

Step away from the noise of daily life and into a sacred container designed for deep restoration, ancestral healing, and embodied transformation. Over eight immersive days, this retreat brings together two powerful modalities—the Somatic Enneagram and Family Constellations—to help you uncover the unconscious patterns that shape your life and reconnect with the truth of who you are.

Through experiential constellation work, somatic practices, and the profound insight of the Enneagram’s type structures, you’ll discover how shame, fear, anger, grief, and idealizations live in the body—and how they can be gently reconciled through presence, discernment, and compassion. This retreat offers an alchemical process of healing: honoring the origins of our patterns, releasing what no longer belongs to us, and awakening the body’s innate wisdom for living with clarity, agency, and love.

Guided by internationally respected teachers Marion Gilbert and Hemla Makan-Dullabh, and supported by a community of fellow seekers, you’ll soften lifelong strategies of survival and deepen into a grounded sense of belonging. Set within the beauty of the Sediba Retreat Center, this experience invites you to return home to yourself—your body, your lineage, and your truest inner orientation.

How does Family Constellation Work & The Somatic Enneagram fit together?

Family Constellation work offers a natural and powerful extension of Somatic Enneagram practice, because both approaches understand that our patterns of reactivity, perception, and identity are not created in isolation. They are shaped by our early environment, our family systems, and—often—stories and survival strategies that began long before we were born.

In the Somatic Enneagram, we learn that type structure forms from the nervous system’s best attempts to protect us and help us belong. Family Constellations reveals a deeper layer beneath that structure: the intergenerational field of loyalties, losses, and unresolved experiences that influence how our body contracts, what emotions we carry, and which roles we unconsciously take on in our families and relationships. Together, these modalities help us understand not only what we do, but why we do it—and for whom.

In constellation work, patterns that may feel “personal” often reveal themselves as ancestral entanglements—hidden dynamics in which we carry grief, shame, fear, or responsibility that originated with someone else in our lineage. These entanglements frequently reinforce the very type patterns we work with in the Somatic Enneagram: idealizations we cling to, survival strategies we default to, and emotional avoidances that keep us looping in familiar forms of suffering. When these unconscious burdens are brought into awareness through embodied, relational fieldwork, the type structure begins to soften. The body gains access to more space, presence, and agency.

This is why Family Constellations fits so organically with the Somatic Enneagram path. It invites us to feel the deeper roots of our type’s defenses—not to pathologize them, but to honor their origins and release what no longer belongs to us. As the natural order of the family system is restored, the body’s intelligence can reorganize around truth rather than inherited burdens. From this place, we can meet our type structure with greater compassion, clarity, and freedom.

Constellation work does not replace Somatic Enneagram practice—it expands it. It offers a doorway into the generational story behind our reactivity, the ancestral wisdom beneath our defenses, and the possibility of living not as a continuation of old patterns, but as a new expression of presence, love, and belonging.
