Advanced Inward Turn Retreat (Level 1)
An Immersive Somatic Enneagram Experience with Marion Gilbert
April 14–19, 2027
Woodland Grange | Leamington Spa, United Kingdom
Â
There comes a point in our Enneagram work when understanding the patterns of type is no longer enough. We may recognize our habits of attention. We may understand our defenses, familiar emotional responses, and the strategies we developed to navigate the world. We may even recognize these patterns as they arise—and still discover how deeply they live within us.
Advanced Inward Turn Level 1 invites us to go further.
Led by Somatic Enneagram founder Marion Gilbert, this immersive six-day experience creates an opportunity to turn toward the deeper layers of type structure through the intelligence of the body. Rather than approaching transformation primarily through analysis or understanding, we learn to remain present with the sensations, impulses, contractions, and responses through which our patterns continue to organize themselves.
As we develop the capacity to stay present with our embodied experience without immediately reacting to it, something begins to shift. What once felt automatic can become visible. What once required protection can be met with curiosity and compassion. And where personality structure has narrowed our possibilities, new choices can begin to emerge.
The Inward Turn is not about striving to become a better version of our type. It is an invitation to experience what becomes available when the familiar strategies of personality begin to soften—and we discover a deeper relationship with presence, Essence, and our capacity to meet life as it unfolds.

What You Will Experience
Advanced Inward Turn Level 1 offers an extended container for deep experiential work with Marion Gilbert and the Somatic Enneagram.
Across six days together, participants will enter a rhythm of teaching, somatic practice, inquiry, reflection, and integration. The extended nature of the gathering allows us to slow the process down and notice what can easily remain hidden in shorter experiences or intellectual approaches to the Enneagram.
You will be invited to work directly with the felt experience of your type structure: noticing how habitual patterns arise through sensation, attention, emotion, impulse, contraction, and movement.
Through guided Somatic Enneagram practices and inquiry, you will explore what happens when you remain present with these patterns rather than automatically following or resisting them.
The residential setting at Woodland Grange also creates space beyond the formal sessions for rest, reflection, connection, and integration. Rather than moving quickly back into the demands of everyday life, participants have the opportunity to stay close to the work as it unfolds.

About Your Guide(s)
Â
Marion Gilbert is the founder of the Somatic Enneagram and an internationally recognized Enneagram teacher whose work has helped bring embodied awareness into the heart of Enneagram practice.
Drawing from decades of experience in somatic awareness, trauma-informed practice, and the Enneagram, Marion developed the Somatic Enneagram as a way of working directly with the patterns of type as they are experienced through sensation, reactivity, and the intelligence of the body.
Her teaching invites students beyond simply understanding personality and toward the direct experience of their patterns in the present moment. Through compassionate inquiry and embodied presence, Marion helps participants discover greater capacity for choice, resilience, freedom, and access to the deeper qualities of Essence.
